What the statuses mean
- Supported: a value was found with a checked source reference; it is not independent verification.
- Missing: no candidate was found in successfully read, correctly associated sources.
- Conflict: incompatible candidates remain for the same product, field, and condition.
- Unsupported: the candidate or evidence could not be verified from the source.

Source text, tables, and locations are parsed first. The public workflow uses deterministic rules to propose candidates and validate units, product ownership, evidence, and conflicts; a model is an explicit operator opt-in.

Every value keeps its filename, page, sheet, or record location and source quote. “Supported” means the source was checked, not that the manufacturer claim was independently verified. The example is fictional; OCR, URL crawling, formula execution, and claim verification are outside V0.1.

This tool does not run OCR, guess missing values, or verify manufacturer claims.

Questions people ask
Does Supported mean the product claim is independently verified?
No. Supported means a value was found with a source quote and location that passed the review rules. The tool does not test the product or certify a manufacturer's claim.
What happens when two documents disagree?
The values stay in a Conflict state for the same product, field, and condition. A reviewer can inspect both quotes and choose a candidate while keeping the conflict history.
What does Missing mean?
Missing means no candidate was found in sources that were successfully read and associated with that product. It is different from Unsupported, where a candidate exists but cannot be verified.
Can it read a scanned PDF or fetch a URL?
V0.1 does not run OCR or fetch URLs. Use a text-readable PDF or an offline HTML export, then review coverage before relying on a result.
Which files and exports are supported?
Inputs are PDF, DOCX, XLSX, CSV, and offline HTML. A reviewed snapshot can be exported as CSV, Markdown, JSON, or PDF.
